Luisito Quintero Band
Friday 23rd May
Live @ Jazz Cafe, Park Way, Camden Town, London
DJ Support : DJ Lubi (Fania Records)
Spanish Harlem Orchestra timbalero and Louie Vega/Masters At Work percussionist Luisito Quintero returns to Jazz Cafe with his own eclectic worldbeat band for a night of latin jazz, afro-beat, samba, boogaloo and bossa nova!
If you saw him soloing at the recent Jazz Cafe Spanish Harlem Orchestra gigs you will know this man is special! A percussion maestro who's love of rhythm takes him beyond the strict confines of "salsa" to a world where African beats and musical styles from Cuba, Puerto Rico and Brasil mix naturally and comfortably with BIG Apple NYC deep soulful house attitude!
This is a gig for lovers of good music - for those who see the connection between Hector Lavoe, Los Munequitos De Matanazas, Louie Vega and Fela Kuti! For those unsure of Luisito's solo work, check his CD "Percussion Madness" on BBE Records.
